What is a Class Rep?

As a Class Rep, you have a seat at council where all the big decisions are made, held every two weeks during term time. You can bring motions to council to change and direct Union policy. This can include things like pushing for more recycling bins on campus, requiring the Welfare Officer to provide free pregnancy tests and campaigning on things like marriage equality, abortion rights and safe drug consumption. Council is your chance to tell us what you want us to work on and to work with us.

As well as sitting on council, you will stay in touch with the people on the ground. Is your class having issues with a particular assignment? Is that one lecturer not putting up the notes on time? Do they want class hoodies or to go on a big durty night out? Do they want to support a protest against Direct Provision? You'll be their go-to for their concerns and ambitions and we're here to support you all the way.

Campaigns

Are you passionate about getting more recycling bins on campus, LGBTQ+ rights or better supports for students with disabilities? Do you want to stop the price hikes in Res, stop UCD's funding of oil exploration or campaign for an end to direct provision?

You’ve come to the right place.

Entertainments

The Entertainments Forum are the life and soul behind the Union's social scene! It is a fantastic opportunity to work with nightclubs around Dublin, work with clubs and societies in UCD, meet celebrities, sports stars and well known personalities as well as gaining unreal experience in event management and making the ultimate decisions as to what events and entertainments the Union hosts for the students of UCD.

If you'd like to help out as an ENTS Rep including working at incredible events, gaining free entry and up-skilling your CV all while making awesome friends and earning some free merch, drop our Ents Officer, Tom, an email at ents@ucdsu.ie!
